The Custody Review Board exercises jurisdiction under the Child and Family Services Act and Part V of the Ministry of Correctional Services Act to review and make recommendations about placements or transfers of young persons held in detention or custody and to review denials of a temporary absence from a place of custody.
The Custody Review Board is designated as part of an adjudicative tribunal cluster by regulation made under the Adjudicative Tribunals Accountability, Governance and Appointments Act, 2009.
